Fukuoka Flights
Fukuoka Airport (FUK) is the fourth busiest airport in Japan -
Fukuoka is the
tenth most populated city of Japan It is the result of the unity of two cities, when
the port city of Hakata and the former castle town of Fukuoka were united into one
city called Fukuoka.
If you are not that into fancy restaurants and you want to mix and mingle with the
locals then it is definitely time for the best food stroll in Yatai Fukuoka's open
air food area. It is not just another attraction but it has been transformed into
a symbol. The exquisite outdoor colorful atmosphere is ready to offer you a variety
of typical Japanese dishes. There are over 150 Yatai scattered across Fukuoka but
the best place to find them is on the southern end of Nakasu Island. Typical dishes
will tickle your palate such as grilled chicken skewers (yakitori), hot pot (oden)
and most famously Hakata Ramen, a local noodle dish featuring relatively thin ramen
noodles in a pork bone based soup (tonkotsu)
Japan is ideal for any kind of shopping whether we are talking about technology or even if we are talking about fashion. Canal City Hakata is a large shopping and entertainment structure, calling itself a "city within the city". More than 250 shops, are welcoming the tourists daily. Cafes restaurants, a theater, game center, cinemas, two hotels and a canal running through the complex offer limitless choices.
A trip to Fukuoka is not all about futuristic buildings; business and shopping. The city hides in its interior a great history that is worth being discovered. Shofukuji has the primacy of being the first Zen temple constructed in Japan. It was founded in 1195 by the priest Eisai, who introduced the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism from China into Japan. Although it is prohibited to the visitors to visit the interior of the temple, visitors can walk through Shofukuji's attractive temple grounds and enjoy the buildings from outside.
If you wish to wander around the city then simply make a stop to The Momochi Seaside Park Its Fukuoka's modern waterfront area with wide, tree lined streets, futuristic buildings and public parks. The area's primer sights are concentrated within a perimeter around the Fukuoka Tower and the Hawks Town entertainment complex, which are located about a kilometer apart. Fukuoka Tower is 234 meters tall is far and away the city's highest building. An observation deck is located at 123 meters from where visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding city and Hakata Bay.
